This single fronted home in Moonee Ponds had a paved entertaining area under the rear pergola. The trouble with this was that it allowed moisture to sit at the back of the house when it was wet. This caused timber rot and destroyed the existing doors at the base weatherboards. We had to take away a lot of the timber from the base of the house and replace it with new.
We managed to replicate the doors, excavate the area and build a timber decking to allow any excess water to drain away. M J Harris Painting then finished off the job with a fresh coat of paint on the house and recoated all exposed timber on the new door to protect it into the future.
Now the home looks like there was never anything wrong with it, as the new deck, windows and doors fit in seamlessly with what was already there.
Luke pulled down our back pergola and rebuilt it as it was unsafe, rotted and falling down. I was surprised at how quickly it went up.
The final result looks great, and my first home is now my dream home. Thanks to Mike and the boys for a job well done.
